About Salvatore Grips – Handcrafted Pistol Grips from Turkey
Salvatore Grips is a workshop in Turkey that has been making replacement grips for pistols and revolvers since 1990. We work with Turkish walnut and acrylic, and we sell directly to shooters, collectors and gun shops around the world through our website, Amazon and our dealer network.
Our story
Salvatore Grips was founded in 1990 in Beyşehir, Konya, Turkey. Today our workshop designs grips for more than 15 pistol and revolver brands – from the Colt 1911 and Sig Sauer P226 to rare classics like the Astra 600 and MAB – and ships them worldwide. The way we work has not changed: every set is still checked and finished by hand.
What we make
We make model-specific grip panels – each set is designed for one pistol, not “universal”. Our range covers:
- Modern service pistols: Colt 1911, Sig Sauer P226, P229 and P220, Beretta 92 / M9, Browning Hi-Power and its clones (SA-35, MC P35, Regent BR9), Jericho
- Revolvers: Smith & Wesson J Frame, K/L Frame (Model 10) and .357 Magnum
- Classic and collector pistols: Tokarev TT-33, Astra, Star, Llama, MAB, Unique, Mauser, Czech VZ and CZ – models where original grips are often cracked, missing or impossible to find
- Accessories: grip screw sets and folding pocket knives
How we make our grips
Every set starts as a solid block of Turkish walnut or a sheet of acrylic. The shape is cut on CNC machines from model-specific files, so the screw holes, the frame contour and the panel thickness match the original grip. After machining, each set is sanded, checkered or engraved and finished by hand in our workshop. Walnut sets receive an oil finish; acrylic sets are polished and laser engraved. Read more about our walnut craftsmanship.
Because walnut is a natural material, the grain and color of every set is a little different. Two customers never receive exactly the same grip.
Why Turkish walnut?
Turkish walnut (Juglans regia) has been the classic gunstock wood for generations. It is dense and stable, holds fine checkering well and shows a deep, figured grain that gets richer with handling. For shooters who prefer a modern look, our acrylic grips come in pearl, ivory, marble and gold or silver engraved designs.
