Beretta 92 / M9 Grips Guide: Walnut vs Acrylic – How to Choose

The Beretta 92 is one of the most recognisable pistols in the world – a long-serving military and police sidearm and a favourite with collectors and sport shooters. Its large, flat grip panels also make it one of the best pistols for custom grips: a new set can completely change the look and feel of the gun.

In this guide we explain which Beretta models our grips fit, how walnut and acrylic compare, and what to check before you order.

Which Beretta models do the grips fit?

Our Beretta 92 grips are made for the full-size frame of the following models:

  • Beretta 92 (including 92F and 92FS)
  • Beretta 96 (.40 S&W)
  • Beretta 98
  • Beretta M9

Some variants use different grip dimensions – for example compact versions and models with the slimmer Vertec-style grip. If your pistol is one of these, or you are simply not sure, message us on WhatsApp with your model and a photo of the grip area before ordering.

Own a smaller Beretta? We also make grips for the Beretta 81 / 84, 51 / 52 and M1951.

Walnut vs acrylic

Walnut grips

Walnut is the classic choice for the Beretta 92. Natural wood gives the pistol a warm, traditional look, feels comfortable in the hand and develops character over time. Our walnut grips are available with laser-engraved patterns or laser checkering for extra grip. Because walnut is a natural material, every set has its own grain pattern.

Acrylic grips

Acrylic Beretta 92 grips are the choice for a bold, eye-catching look. Our seven acrylic designs include:

  • Red & Gold Floral and Red & Silver Floral
  • Black & Gold with Eagle Medallion and Black & Silver Eagle Medallion
  • White Laser Engraved Eagle Medallion
  • White & Gold Hunting Eagle and White & Silver Hunting Eagle

Acrylic is durable, resistant to moisture and polished to a high-gloss finish.

Walnut Acrylic
Look Classic and understated Bold and decorative

Grip Checkered options for a secure hold Engraved details add some texture
Best for Everyday use, classic builds Collectors, display, gifts

Don’t forget the screws

Our grips do not include screws – most owners simply reuse their original grip screws. If yours are worn or you want a fresh look, add a matching Beretta 92 / M9 grip screw set. Buying grips and screws together also counts toward our 2+ items, save 20% offer.

Installation in a few minutes

Beretta 92 grips are a direct replacement: unload the pistol, remove the four grip screws, swap the panels and reinstall the screws. Don’t over-tighten – snug is enough. For a full walkthrough, see our step-by-step installation guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will these grips fit my Beretta M9A3?

The M9A3 uses a slimmer grip than the classic M9, so standard full-size grips are not a direct fit. Message us with your model and we’ll let you know your options.

Do walnut grips get damaged by sweat or oil?

Our walnut grips have a protective finish. Wipe them with a dry cloth after use and avoid harsh solvents, and they will last for years.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping is free worldwide. Orders to the USA arrive in about 9 days (FedEx Express in about 3 days is available), and international orders typically take 10–20 business days.
